How do we arrive at a place of knowing ‘I am enough, I always have been’?

Therapy is fundamentally, at its core, an empowering process. It helps you to grieve the pain and injustices of your past whilst acknowledging I am more than my history. It gives you the opportunity to tell your story and have it witnessed. Feel it land in the other and feel your impact. This helps you find what therapists term personal agency.

You can come to a different understanding of yourself, and with increased awareness comes increased choice. Therapy helps you to step out of others definitions. It allows you to know deeply ‘I have the right to be’.

How I Work with You

In our work together I will hold in mind our joint experience of womanhood. I think about this as a circulating energy between my experiences of being a woman and yours which co-creates something between us. This is akin to an experience of sisterhood which holds both our sameness and our difference.

I will support you in your journey to build a healthy relationship with yourself and your body. This may involve recognising how you have been taught, as a woman, to limit yourself. I will cite this work in its wider context and acknowledge and recognise the daily realities of your life as a woman. This includes an understanding of cultural and societal pressures, discrimination, abuse and the complex juggling act you have to master in finding balance across your disparate roles.
