Perhaps everything that frightens us is, in its deepest essence,

something helpless that wants our love’

About Sue

I am an UKCP Accredited psychotherapist and counsellor, working in Brighton and online.

Over the years of my practice I have become deeply interested in what it is to be human, the themes that connect us and what gets in the way of us stepping into the aliveness of what it is to be uniquely us.

Time and again I see the distress and pain which brings someone to therapy as symptomatic of a life which doesn’t quite fit them, and the contorted responses to it.

I see my expertise in holding the balance between healing the pain and difficulties held in these symptoms, and holding space for someone to be known in their possibilities, as their unique whole.

I bring tenderness, listening deeply, everything is allowed, nothing is too messy. Together we build a therapeutic relationship in which you can feel safe enough to allow yourself to be truly known, and in doing so get to know yourself with more dignity, understanding and self acceptance.

You might come to therapy feeling exhausted, broken, confused, torn about what you really want.

I will guide you out of knots of thinking, to notice and challenge internal battles, allow you to really know and feel your own history, and to empower you to ask for more in your everyday life.

This work unlocks trapped feelings and energy. I passionately believe that the more we allow ourselves to know of the experiences that have shaped us, the freer we become from their unconscious pull to define us.

Over and over in my work I witness the empowerment and enlivenment in the centring of ourselves in our own lives. My clients start to feel enabled to bring more of themselves to their relationships, and to reflect on their feelings in ways which enable them to be trustworthy guides to living in ways which feel truthful and authetic to them.
