‘One need not be branded by the first pattern. Once the deforming mirror is smashed there is the possibility of wholeness, the possibility of joy’
- Anais Nin
What to Expect
As a relational psychotherapist I place the therapeutic relationship at the centre of my work, and believe the most profound change occurs in experience, most powerfully in relational experience. I know the healing in voicing our thoughts and feelings; being seen and understood; finding permission to say out loud and explore that which feels unspeakable elsewhere; sharing our truth with another and letting our experience live and truly be known.
I do not work using a ‘treatment’ model, instead understanding the work as collaborative. In an open, down to earth approach grounded in what matters to you I welcome you, as you - as mind and body. In all your hopes, frustrations, complexities and contradictions. I will listen deeply. Everything is welcome, nothing is too messy.
Therapy happens at a different pace, a weekly space allows time to pause, slow down, and reflect. In a fast paced world, where so much of the pull is towards learning, interpreting and understanding ourselves through technology, AI at everyone's fingertips … I will encourage you to tune into your body, what you are feeling moment to moment. In this way we will interrupt the mind, and tune into the thinking body, as a fluid sentient self.
Our story telling, change and integration lives, and is supported through, and in the body.
For even in stillness our body moves.
